Confessions of a Computer Lab Monitor
I sit and see a sea of computers
and bodies glued to chairs and screens.
What I dread most are the ignorant souls
who thought going to college would some how
make them grow.
They walk to me and ask,
How do I do...
"Every semester I forget my password,
this time, again."
Giggle, giggle.
This is not a funny one to me.
I want to ring the neck
but chant in my head
this is my job, this is my job
one hour, One God Awful Hour.
My soul skids slow across asphalt
having to help stupidity.
But most of them know
how to open their email,
and remember their passwords
is the same for every semester.
They don't even look at me,
when they walk in with coffee.
I don't care what they do
as long as they don't need me.
